Agios Ioannis Beach

Close to the church of Agios Ioannis lies the beautiful beach of the same name. Its somewhat isolated position on the west coast of Meganisi means it is rarely crowded. The spectacular range of colours in the water is very inviting and with views across to Lefkada as well as the tiny island of Thilia, Agios Ioannis beach may well become one of your favourite tranquil sanctuaries on Meganisi.

The beach is signposted from the central and coast roads, then in front of the small car park near the church is the long narrow beach.

There are no bars or shops here, so ensure that you take sufficient water and whatever provisions you need when you visit. Il Paradiso restaurant (marked by a gold star on the map above) is a short stroll down the road or a 1 minute drive from the right of the beach. Situated within a lush green garden, Il Paradiso is the perfect place to dine and to cool down in the midday heat. The restaurant has a small pontoon for those wanting to visit by boat. The beach is backed by maquis and small trees which provide natural shade but taking a hat and/or a sun umbrella is still recommended.
